I’ve been happy to welcome two additional, exciting businesses to the Bexhill Enterprise Park this month, with Yokahu and Perspective (South East) Ltd moving into offices in our High Weald House business centre.
A pioneering insurance intermediary, Yokahu was founded in 2019 by experts in natural disaster insurance, climate finance technology and global weather modelling who believe the insurance sector should play a vital role in building climate resilience.
Yokahu has developed specialised insurance against natural disasters resulting from the climate crisis and particularly supports developing nations in Africa, the Caribbean and the Asia Pacific.
The company is seeing rapid growth, having graduated from two accelerator programmes, won four awards and been a finalist in the United Nations’ AI for the Planet competition.
In addition to staff around the world, Yokahu has a business development department in central London and needed a base for its tech and operations team. So, its directors explored a range of options before deciding on High Weald House in Bexhill.
Co-founder Farid Tejani has now moved into the new office and is busy recruiting employees, including data scientists, finance professionals and software engineers.
He explained: “The South Coast is a great place to run an insurance business as there’s a concentration of successful companies and talent here. We need an office that’s extremely professional, well-designed and energy efficient. High Weald House ticks all those boxes.
“It’s in a sustainable location, which is important because our staff cycle or get public transport to work, and we have the flexibility to take more space within the building as our business grows.”
Financial advisory company Perspective (South East) Ltd has also relocated to a new office in High Weald House to consolidate its East Sussex branches and support its continuing growth.
Perspective Financial Group has 40 offices nationwide and provides a highly personalised service, maintaining the feel of a collection of local companies. The South East part of its business supports clients across Sussex, Surrey and Kent and has two branches in East Sussex – one in Eastbourne and one in St Leonards. The company decided to consolidate these so sought a new office that could accommodate the two teams, plus provide room for further expansion.
Its directors chose High Weald House, and a 10-strong team of financial advisers, paraplanners and admin staff has now moved in.
Director Mark Taylor said: “We wanted one larger, modern, high-quality office. It needed to project our professional image, and it needed ample car parking and great road connections to make it easy for our clients to visit us – and us them.
“We also needed premises that offer the flexibility to expand, as we’re forecasting consistent growth over the coming years.
“We deliver impartial, professional wealth management advice, and we’re greatly looking forward to doing this from our prestigious new Bexhill offices!”
We’re happy to see these two successful businesses move to the Bexhill Enterprise Park. With a small number of offices remaining in High Weald House – from 620 to 6,915 sq ft – there are opportunities for others interested in joining this vibrant, growing business community.
