Film production startup crowned Kent winner of South East pitch competition

Nocturnal Pictures has been announced as the Kent winner of the South East Startup Roadshow, hosted by South East Angels.

The independent film production company specialises in dark, high-concept, story-driven narratives within the action, horror and Sci-Fi genres.

Its debut feature film The Last Rite has already made its mark on popular streaming platforms such as HULU, SKY and Amazon Prime

Founders, investors and key stakeholders from the startup ecosystem came together in Maidstone, Kent in July for the startup roadshow event as part of the South East Startup Roadshow event series.

The event aimed to showcase local startups and champion the startup ecosystem around the South East, serving as a platform for entrepreneurs to connect with potential investors, gain exposure and receive valuable feedback to propel their ventures forward.

As one of the panel judges at the event, Jake Fox from South East Angels, said: “The calibre of pitches was really high, and it was great to see a variety of ideas being presented.

“Nocturnal Pictures delivered a super compelling pitch that clearly communicated their focus, unique capability, and impressive traction. They are a real asset to the Kent startup community and larger UK creative industry.”

Winner of the pitch event, and co-founder of Nocturnal Pictures, Leroy Kincaide, added: “Nocturnal Pictures was born out of a place of frustration where my love for acting took centre stage.

“Not getting the acting opportunities I desired, I began by making my own short films to enable me to act in the roles I wanted.

“Seven years on we have now produced four short films, one feature film released worldwide and also have a slate of over five movies in development ready to package and move forward with.”

Nocturnal Pictures is actively looking for investors for its second horror movie.
