Dandara provides £12.1M ‘boost’ for local communities

Housebuilder and property developer Dandara South East has reported £12.1 million in financial contributions to local authorities between January 2021 and June 2025, representing a major investment in education, healthcare, community facilities and local infrastructure across the region.

The funding has helped local authorities provide new school places, enhance community services and support the infrastructure required around growing neighbourhoods. It includes contributions for education, healthcare, community facilities, sport and leisure, transport, affordable housing, biodiversity and other essential local amenities.

Beyond direct contributions, the region has also generated substantial wider social and local value. Over the same period, Dandara South East spent £25.1 million with 277 local materials suppliers and subcontractors within 30 miles of its sites, keeping a significant share of construction spending in the regional economy.

A total of 303 local people have worked on its developments through direct employment and subcontractor roles, while apprentices have completed 71 weeks of on-site experience, helping to strengthen skills pipelines in the sector.

The business has also provided £119,000 in donations and sponsorships to local organisations, from grassroots groups to charities and community projects.

David Garrett, managing director for Dandara South East, said: “These results show what can happen when you commit to working with local people and local partners over the long term.

“The numbers are strong, but the real value is in the things residents can see and feel – from investment in schools and community facilities to the local firms and trades who have been able to grow alongside our sites.

“We are also proud of the apprenticeships we have supported because they are the foundation for the next generation of construction talent in the South East.

“For us, building homes is only part of the story; we want our developments to leave a positive legacy in every town and village where we are active.”

The South East performance forms a core part of Dandara’s wider ESG reporting and underlines the region’s role in delivering homes that provide quality and value for years to come while supporting the communities around them.
