Caterham-based Croudace Homes has secured a prestigious win at the Local Authority Building Control (LABC) South East Building Excellence Awards.
A three-time โPride in the Jobโ award winner, build manager Matthew McCourt has been announced as the โConstruction Specialist of the Yearโ for Croudace Homesโ Ewhurst site, Firethorn Place near Cranleigh, Surrey.
The โConstruction Specialist of the Yearโ award recognises the excellent management of large-scale projects, including good communication with stakeholders and swift resolution of any challenges on site.
The LABC Building Excellence Awards are one of the largest business-to-business awards in the building control sector, celebrating outstanding projects and individual contributions in the construction industry.
The awards recognise the quality of all types of building projects, outstanding companies, partnerships and individuals that go the extra mile to raise the level of construction quality across England and Wales.
Liam Chapman, building director at Croudace South Thames, said: โThis award highlights Croudaceโs continuous commitment to delivering industrial excellence, innovation and extraordinary construction quality.
โWe are extremely proud of Matthewโs win, which builds on a strong record of achievement. In 2023 and 2024, he secured a โPride in the Job Awardโ for his work at Croudaceโs Firethorn Place development, marking two consistent years of high-quality work. His leadership on site, diligence and ability to manage complex builds were key to his selection amongst a competitive field.โ
Matthew added: โThis award is not only testament to my own efforts but the hard work and dedication of the entire Ewhurst team. It is an honour to be recognised at the regional level, and I am looking forward to competing at the National Grand Finals in London next January.โ
Matthew has over 14 years of experience in the construction industry and has been a site manager at Croudace Homes for over 12 years. Having demonstrated exceptional skill and dedication on site, Matthew will now progress to compete at the National Grand Finals in London in January 2026.
