Margate-based copywriting and communications agency Red and White Media has achieved recognition at both regional and national levels, earning two accolades in two months.
In August, the firm was named โCopywriting Service of the Yearโ at the South England Prestige Awards 2025/26. Then, in September, director Vikkie Richmond received a โHighly Commendedโ honour in the โCopywriter of the Yearโ category at the Digital Women Awards 2025.
Founded in 2023, Red and White Media provides communications specialist knowledge to sole traders, small businesses and larger organisations across the UK.
Vikkie said: โIโm absolutely thrilled to bits that Red and White Media has been recognised in this way. Starting a new business from the ground up is so hard, so itโs fantastic to be acknowledged for the work we do in only our second year of trading. Communications is a vital part of any business, and whether youโre talking to colleagues or clients, itโs essential to get it right.โ
Since its official launch in November 2024, Red and White Media has worked with clients across various sectors โ from sole traders to franchised small businesses and an international hospitality chain.
The company provides specialist support to internal communications teams and to directors, marketing leads and small business owners who want to take a more strategic approach to communication with their staff, clients and customers.
Vikkie added: โWe started life as copywriters who also offered social media and digital marketing services to small businesses in the local area.
โIn my day-to-day communications with clients, networking colleagues and peers, I realised that many larger firms are facing budget constraints and recruitment issues. This means theyโre swamped with work and arenโt able to communicate as effectively as they would like with their internal audiences.
โI spotted an opportunity to diversify, and straight away we gained an international hospitality client with whom we work as fractional internal communications specialists.โ
Vikkie is a copywriter and a qualified social media marketer, although she has a corporate background in administration. This is her second business. For five years, until November last year, she ran a successful virtual assistant (VA) franchise territory in East Kent.
Vikkie holds associate-level membership with the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and the Institute of Internal Communication (IoIC). Her specialism is tone-of-voice, brand-led communication.
She is also a founder member of Digital Women, a Kent-based organisation that supports and empowers women in the digital and tech industries by providing training, networking opportunities and recognition for their achievements.
These efforts address the underrepresentation of women in tech and the challenges they face, such as a lack of career progression and skills gaps, by creating communities and events.
Vikkie was the recipient of one of 10 โCommunity Championโ awards at the Digital Women Awards 2025, in recognition of her support for and promotion of the DW community.
