Crowe bolsters Insolvency and Restructuring practice with latest partner promotion

National audit, tax, advisory and consulting firm Crowe has promoted Mark Holborow as Insolvency and Restructuring partner.

Mark, who joined Crowe in 2022 as a director, has almost 20 yearsโ€™ experience in insolvency and restructuring working in Big Four and mid-tier firms.

With a focus on helping clients in financial distress to navigate uncertainty, Mark has particular expertise in restructuring advisory for businesses aiming to avoid formal insolvency.

Working with accountants, lawyers and institutional investors, Mark supports clients in understanding their options and duties to restructure and rescue businesses, and to protect creditorsโ€™ positions if no better outcome can be achieved.

Markโ€™s clients span various industries and sectors, from start-ups to mature enterprises, including owner-managed businesses, SMEs, large national companies and non-profit organisations. He often works on behalf of corporates, lenders and investors.

As a licensed insolvency practitioner, Mark has experience in administrations, creditorsโ€™ voluntary liquidations, company voluntary arrangements and membersโ€™ voluntary liquidations.

Markโ€™s promotion is the latest in a series of strategic partner appointments at Crowe, underscoring a key milestone in the firmโ€™s growth strategy and its continued commitment to delivering exceptional client service.

Nigel Bostock, chief executive of Crowe UK, said: โ€œWe are delighted to welcome Mark to the Crowe partnership. His promotion will further strengthen our insolvency and restructuring capabilities to deliver tailored solutions to businesses under financial pressure.

โ€œThis is a critical time for many businesses, as ongoing economic uncertainty is compounded by recent increases in National Insurance contributions, salaries, and taxes. Markโ€™s extensive experience and strong expertise means he is well-equipped to help clients to navigate turbulent and uncertain times.โ€

Mark added: โ€œIโ€™m excited to start the next stage of my career with Crowe, working closely with Steven Edwards to continue to grow our Insolvency and Restructuring service offering.

โ€œThe rate of formal insolvency appointments has remained persistently high over the last two years, and 2025 shows little sign of improvement.

โ€œCroweโ€™s expertise, client base and national footprint mean we are ideally positioned to support businesses across the UK which are struggling with financial distress and stakeholder pressure.

โ€œOn a personal level, Croweโ€™s culture of openness, support and investment in our people perfectly aligns with my own ethos.โ€
