Leading grant maker Kent Community Foundation has partnered with SWEF to support Kent and Medway’s young business entrepreneurs.
Grants are available to cover essential costs as applicants turn their business idea into reality or to support growth and development if their business is trading and is less than two years old.
Grants will be awarded to cover costs for equipment that will help a business achieve increased revenues, equipment that will help a business increase production where there is proven demand, materials or stock for a new product line, prototypes, website build, training or product development.
The SWEF Fund accepts:
- Applications for grants up to the value of £2,000 (although applications for startup businesses at the pre-revenue stage are initially eligible for up to £500 to help prove the business concept and start revenue generation)
- Applications for UK businesses
- Applications with evidence of significant steps taken to get your business off the ground (applications solely for ‘business ideas’ will not be considered)
The SWEF fund will support applicants between the ages of 18-30 who live in Kent or Medway, who agree to spend the funding within one month of receipt of the funds and give feedback after 12 months.
Georgie MacFarlan, individual grants officer at Kent Community Foundation, said: “We are delighted to be working with SWEF to support Kent’s young business entrepreneurs. We are looking for applications that tell us about your business and how a grant would help you to make it more successful or to support the startup costs for your new business.
“We will also require your business plan and a breakdown of specific costs to help us understand how you would use the grant.
“There is plenty of information on the Kent Community Foundation website about the application process, and I am very happy to answer any questions you may have.”
