Family-run West Sussex store sold for first time in 20 years

Specialist business property adviser Christie & Co has announced that Barnham Trading Post, a versatile local store and Post Office in Barnham near Bognor Regis, has been acquired by new owners.

With over 10,000 square foot of retail space across two floors, Barnham Trading Post stocks and sells a wide variety of food, household goods, electrical items and furniture, and is home to the only Post Office in Barnham, as well as a café.

The store has been owned and operated by the same family for over 20 years. The freehold of the property, including the business, has been sold to a local retail operator who brings with him a wealth of experience.

James Matson, associate director at Christie & Co, who managed the sale, said: “I am proud to have managed the sale of fantastic business and property. I wish the new owner every success with the business moving forward, and the previous owner a long and happy retirement.”
