FRP strengthens Brighton team with new restructuring partner

Specialist business advisory firm FRP has appointed Neville Side as a partner in its Brighton-based restructuring advisory team, strengthening its presence in the South East.

With more than 20 years’ experience in business restructuring and formal insolvency, Neville joins from BDO, where he spent over two decades working across high-profile cases, including the administrations of portable hotel operator Snoozebox, leisure chain All Star Lanes and social enterprise travel operator HCT Group.

He also led the post-insolvency trading of Hadlow College and West Kent & Ashford College – the first education administrations of their kind following the introduction of new legislation to the sector.

Over the last 12 months, he has assisted a number of businesses in navigating a path to stability as they manage the challenges of increased debt burdens and the ongoing challenging economic climate.

Based in FRP’s Brighton office, Neville will work closely with partner Phil Harris and the wider team to expand the firm’s market presence across Sussex and Surrey.

His appointment further enhances FRP’s capabilities in managing complex restructuring cases across all sectors, including real estate, retail, education and not-for-profit, while also supporting the firm’s national network, which has grown to more than 30 offices.

The appointment follows a year of growth for FRP, which has seen the business acquire five specialist firms, including restructuring firm GWC on the Isle of Man and a number of corporate finance and valuations advisors. The firm has also expanded its footprint into Wales and Northern Ireland.

Jeremy French, chief operating officer at FRP, said: “Neville is a highly experienced and respected advisor whose deep expertise in restructuring and formal insolvency makes him a valuable addition to our team.

“His proven track record in handling complex cases and regulated sector insolvencies will play a vital role in strengthening our offering across the South East as well as our national network of offices.

“We’re incredibly pleased to have him on board as FRP continues to grow and support businesses throughout the corporate lifecycle.”

Neville Side, restructuring advisory partner at FRP, added: “FRP has built a market-leading reputation for delivering practical solutions for businesses navigating financial challenges.

“With insolvency levels remaining consistently high and economic uncertainty set to continue into 2025, many businesses will require expert support to overcome complex trading conditions.

“I’m excited to be joining such a talented team and look forward to working closely with my colleagues to support businesses across the South East and beyond.”
