Construction begins on new retirement community in Dunston Green

Construction is well underway in Dunton Green, Sevenoaks, to create a new retirement living development from McCarthy Stone, with “independence and community at its heart”.

McCarthy Stone’s upcoming development, Corn Mill Place on Mill Road, will offer local retirees a fully tailored solution to suit their lifestyle and individual needs, which puts wellbeing at the forefront.

The UK manager and developer of retirement communities initially broke ground in July this year and hopes to welcome its first occupants in August 2025, with reservations being taken from June 2025.

Once complete, Corn Mill Place will consist of 37 one and two-bedroom beautifully appointed apartments, along with state-of-the-art facilities to create a unique brand of retirement living designed to enrich quality of life.

Providing an ideal space for homeowners to forge new friendships, the communal lounge will sit at the heart of day-to-day life alongside attractive landscaped gardens and a guest suite for friends and family to stay overnight.

To help minimise its environmental impact and for a more efficient process, McCarthy Stone has employed Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) at the Dunton Green development, which is also known to improve the overall thermal efficiency of a building.

John Michael Tabakian, divisional sales director at McCarthy Stone, said: “Our new development in the Dunton Green area offers a fantastic opportunity for retirees to downsize and focus on doing the things they enjoy most.

“Corn Mill Place is perfectly positioned in the heart of the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty near Sevenoaks Wildlife Reserve, meaning homeowners will be spoiled for choice when it comes to attractive green spaces.

“Each of our developments are designed to offer safety and companionship combined with privacy and independence within a vibrant community of like-minded individuals.”
