Brighton brokerage firm wins ‘industry Oscars’

Brighton-based brokerage firm Hooray Health & Protection bagged four awards at the UK Health & Protection Awards 2024, including the highly sought-after ‘Advice Firm of the Year’ accolade.

Hooray Health & Protection received the awards from comedian Kevin Bridges during a ceremony at London Hilton Park Lane.

Founder and director Charlie Cousins said: “It came as a big shock. We were up against some of the biggest names in the industry, with much bigger teams than ours, but once again, we’ve managed to punch above our weight.”

Hooray Health & Protection helps SMEs and startups source employee benefits, including health insurance and life insurance, for their employees.

Charlie added: “Staff are increasingly demanding more support from their employers when it comes to physical, mental and financial health. It’s a really big issue right now.

“Our goal is to help companies find affordable deals on policies which provide meaningful support to employees and ensure their policies work as hoped.”

The brokerage firm is based in Stroudley Road, Brighton, where it shares offices with sister company Engage Health Group.

Engage Health Group also came away with an award, winning ‘Best Group International Advice Firm’.

Ian Abbott, international director at Engage Health Group, said: “It’s the second year running we’ve won this award, which is a massive achievement.

“More companies are hiring abroad, either due to local talent embracing remote work abroad or because businesses are expanding their talent search or operations internationally.

“In either case, employers are looking to give all workers the same level of benefits wherever they are in the world, and that’s where we can help.”
