JE Bennett Law recognised in Chambers and Partners UK Legal Guide 2025

Tunbridge Wells, Kent-based JE Bennett Law has been recognised in the Chambers and Partners UK Legal Guide 2025.

The firm, which specialises in supporting people in vulnerable circumstances, recently reported a 75% increase in revenue since 2020/21 and an internal restructuring to reflect organic growth in related legal practice areas.

It has taken JE Bennett Law just 12 years for its expertise in Court of Protection, Power of Attorney and Personal Injury Trusts to be recognised by the leading legal guide, Chambers UK, for Court of Protection: Property & Affairs (UK-wide).

The company has also been ranked in the Legal 500 as a Leading Firm for Court of Protection for the seventh year in a row, with individual rankings for four of the team.

Managing partner Jane Bennett, who is one of only six lawyers nationally to make the Legal 500 Hall of Fame for Court of Protection, and has personally been ranked in Chambers since 2018, said: “Winning a place in the Chambers UK Legal Guide 2025 is a tremendous achievement for the whole team.

“Chambers puts a lot of value on legacy and heritage, so most Court of Protection teams that it recognises are part of long-established law firms.

“For JE Bennett Law to come from a standing start and achieve this accolade within 12 years of starting out on my own is testimony to the expertise, commitment and positive client outcomes achieved across the team.”

The firm’s inclusion by Chambers recognises consistently excellent client feedback and industry reputation, alongside a 78% increase in its core business of Deputyships over the last three years. This has led to an exponential increase in affiliated services, with JE Bennett Law seeing a 257% increase in Probate since 2020/21.

Senior partner Richard Shearing, who heads the Private Client division, said: “We have therefore restructured into three fee-earning divisions – COP Personal Injury & Expert Witness, Panel & Local Authority, and Private Client – to give focus to the respective areas and to drive future growth in line with our core values of protecting and empowering our clients and delivering appropriate legal support to the highest standards.”

Over the same period, the practice has increased its headcount by 61%. Jane added: “We now have eight partners and two solicitors; a team of 15 paralegals; a trainee and administration support staff, representing clients across the UK from our headquarters in Tunbridge Wells, Kent.”

JE Bennett Law is planning further growth, building on its successful strategy of long-term, successful, collaborative relationships with personal injury lawyers and insurers.
