Private client legal assistant Nicola Huseyin of Kent and London law firm Thackray Williams has been named ‘Legal Assistant of the Year’ at the British Wills and Probate Awards 2024.
Nicola, who has been with Thackray Williams for 10 years, heads the seven legal assistants in the department. She has played a key role in steering them through the firm’s recent restructuring into six sectors that align with client needs, rather than traditional legal silos.
Nicola said: “I’m over the moon and humbled to have been named ‘Legal Assistant of the Year’. It was an honour just to have been nominated by my colleagues, and I could hardly believe it when they called out my name as the winner at the black-tie award gala in Manchester on 10 October.
“My aim is always to deliver the kind of service for our clients that I would want for myself. Since heading up the legal assistant team, I have aimed to lead by example.
“I’ve had tremendous support in this from the partners within the department, as well as the commitment and enthusiasm of the other legal assistants.”
Elliot Lewis, head of Thackray Williams’ Private Client Department, added: “We’re thrilled that Nicola’s dedication, willingness always to go the extra mile and empathetic leadership has been recognised.
“She exemplifies the customer and quality focus that runs through Thackray Williams and is a worthy winner of the title.”
