Brighton and Hove-based B2B PR agency Midnight Communications is now a Certified B Corporation (B Corp), joining a global community of for-profit businesses that have pledged to use business as a force for good.
There are currently more than 8,000 Certified B Corporations, operating in 162 industries and 96 countries. Each has undertaken a rigorous assessment administered by the not-for-profit B Lab to achieve a minimum verified score showcasing high standards of social and environmental impact, accountability and transparency.
The assessment examined how Midnight’s operations impact and add value to stakeholders, including its employees, clients, the community and the environment.
Verification and Certification took nine months, and every member of the Midnight team was engaged in the process.
Alex Hankinson, joint managing director of Midnight, said: “Becoming a Certified B Corp is such an important milestone for our agency, and one our team are so proud to have reached together.
“Working toward B Corp accreditation this year has been such a positive experience, and the framework has supported us to make strides in all areas of our business.
“Midnight’s mission is to be the best business-to-business PR partner in the UK, helping clients to grow their business and reputation responsibly. Joining the B Corp movement will help supercharge that mission.
“We’ll allow ourselves a moment to celebrate and then crack straight back on – certification is just the beginning. Forging connections with like-minded businesses who believe that businesses can and should be a force for good and the power of collective action is very exciting. We can’t wait to see what the next year brings.”
Chris Turner, executive director of B Lab UK, added: “We are delighted to welcome Midnight to the B Corp community. This is a movement of companies who are committed to changing how business operates and believe business really can be a force for good.
“We know that Midnight is going to be a fantastic addition to the community and will continue driving the conversation forward.”
