Indoor padel courts business to open in Ashford

A new state-of-the-art indoor padel and social club called Square One is coming to Ashford, Kent in September 2024.

Square One Padel & Social Club has been meticulously designed with no expense spared to provide top-notch fitness facilities, including three doubles courts and one singles court, an exclusive gym and a Pilates studio.

Users will also be able to enjoy an on-site restaurant and bar offering a full a la carte menu, ice baths, on-site physiotherapists and a pro shop.

Local businessman Sam De Haan discovered padel during a work trip to Europe five years ago and became instantly hooked. Despite Padel’s popularity across Europe, Sam was surprised to find a significant lack of indoor clubs in the UK and has set out to launch the best padel court facility in the area.

Sam said: “My vision was not only to establish a premier indoor padel club but also to ensure that it features the highest quality courts, comparable to those on the Premier Padel Tour.

“At Square One, we aim to provide facilities where the game can be enjoyed at the highest levels as well as by novices.”

With no other indoor padel facilities in Kent, Square One will be the first to offer year-round indoor courts, enabling play to continue all through the seasons.

The building, which was previously occupied and used by Peli Hardigg to make cases for transporting equipment, is being redesigned and converted by On Architecture.

Located in Brookfield Industrial Estate, Ashford, it is within walking distance of Ashford Train Station and is expected to attract professional players from surrounding counties and Londoners looking for an easily accessible, high-quality facility.

Additionally, Square One offers youth training programs to nurture future champions and an over-60s program for adults seeking fitness and social connections.
