Chapel House Estate, a wedding and events venue in Minster, Kent, has received planning permission for a new oak-framed glass courtyard, which will join its No 9 Restaurant and lounge bar.
The glass courtyard, featuring an oak frame of exceptional quality and proportions, will offer a stunning setting for intimate weddings, birthdays and other special occasions.
Notably, it will provide an ‘alfresco dining experience’ for restaurant patrons, regardless of the weather conditions.
This space will complement the existing buildings, seamlessly blending modern architectural design with the estate’s timeless charm.
The team at Chapel House Estate believe that much like a kitchen in a home, the courtyard will become a unique and sophisticated hub where guests will want to linger and enjoy year-round.
Key features of the class courtyard include floor-to-ceiling glass walls, advanced heating and cooling systems, bi-folding doors and a retractable glass ceiling.
Construction will begin in the winter of 2024/25, using local builders and suppliers.
Darren Ellis, owner and custodian of the Chapel House Estate, said: “We are thrilled to have received planning permission for the new glass courtyard. This new development reflects our dedication to continually enhancing our couples’ and clients’ experience.
“The modern elegance of the glass courtyard, with its oak frame handcrafted in England, will add warmth and character, and in doing so will seamlessly blend with the historic charm of the ancient estate, gardens and farm vernacular, creating the perfect setting for dining and unforgettable events.”
