Dragon’s Den star teams up with Natwest for small business roadshow

TV Dragon and Small Business Sunday (SBS) creator Theo Paphitis is teaming up with NatWest to host the Small Business Sunday 2024 Regional Business Bootcamps, an event series offering local entrepreneurs the chance to meet and learn from some of the UK’s greatest business minds.

The series kicked off in London on 13 May at NatWest 250 Bishopsgate conference centre with around 100 local entrepreneurs in attendance eager to hear tips and advice on how to scale and grow their businesses.

At the forefront of the event series is TV Dragon, retail entrepreneur and SBS creator Theo Paphitis. Small Business Sunday was created by Theo in October 2010. The network has grown to over 3,500 small businesses and allows small business owners to network and meet like-minded entrepreneurs.

NatWest London and South East regional ecosystem manager Luke Pamflett led the event alongside Theo, with various other NatWest speakers featuring.

Luke said: “While we learned during the pandemic that business can be done remotely, we’ve always emphasised the importance of in-person networking too. There’s something really inspiring that happens when you get hundreds of energetic entrepreneurs in a room together.

“That’s why we offer a dedicated co-working space for the entrepreneurs on NatWest’s own accelerator programme, and why we are so incredibly excited to be on the road again with SBS in 2024.

“We hope to encourage positive growth for those attending and ultimately provide them with the tools and knowledge they’ll need to scale and grow their businesses.”

Theo added: “We aim to ensure that all of our businesses understand the importance of identifying the growth opportunities available to them.

“Through this event, and the SBS network, we arm entrepreneurs with the knowledge and strategies to help them better navigate the often-choppy waters of business.”

The SBS roadshow will kick off in London and then will head to four major cities including Manchester, Glasgow, Bristol and Milton Keynes.
