Broadstairs’ Elev8 plans expansion

Broadstairs-based bounce park and soft play centre Elev8 has announced that it is to double in size this spring, following the acquisition of the lease on a neighbouring building, the former Laura Ashley store at the Broadstairs Retail Park.

The expansion into the new building, which has been empty since 2019, will see Elev8 have over 28,000 sq ft of space.

This allows for the expansion of existing facilities as well as many new and exciting features for visitors, including wall to wall interconnecting trampolines, tumble tracks, further digital games and several unique features which are only available at Elev8.

Hadley Colton, co-founder of Elev8, said: “We are excited to announce the acquisition of the building next door, which means we are expanding many of our existing facilities, as well as adding loads of new features.

“Since opening, we have loved seeing all our customers enjoy our bounce park and soft play areas, especially during dedicated sessions for groups such as toddlers and SEN (Special Educational Needs) visitors.

“The expansion will see many new activities which can’t be found at any other Hybrid Bounce Park here in Kent.

“We can’t wait to reveal the new building, which will be fully open in March. This means we will have to close our doors for a few days before to allow the fit out, so I would urge people to keep an eye on the website for any changes in our opening times during this brief period.”

Elev8 is a family-funded business which opened in October 2022. Its first expansion opened in April 2023 with a three-tier soft play, mini bounce park and disability-friendly sensory room. The second phase opened in December 2023 with a Ninja course and interactive games area.

The business’ third phase of expansion will also create more local jobs. There are currently 22 front of house staff employed, as well as providing work for many local trades as part of the fit out.

Hadley continued: “This is another major investment into our site here in Broadstairs and it will provide a fantastic, all year-round fitness and fun resource for the local community and the many groups which travel to use our facilities.

“We provide affordable and entertaining facilities for all age groups, and we are confident that visitors will love our new additions to the site.”
