HSBC funding helps South East office provider boost energy efficiency

Dexter House Ltd, trading as Dexter Serviced Offices, has secured a £654,000 funding package from HSBC UK, part of which will be used to install solar panels at the business’ sites in Surrey.

The move will enable Dexter House Ltd to save an estimated £70,000 per year in energy costs, allowing the business to offer clients stability with their fees.

Dexter Serviced Offices offers unique high-specification facilities at an all-inclusive monthly fee, eliminating the need for surprise service bills.

The serviced office provider has already installed 420 solar panels on Bourne House, saving £25,000 on energy bills in the first four months of operation – 10% of the installation costs. Work will also begin in September to install a further 230 solar panels on Southbridge House.

Ian Peadon, managing director at Dexter Serviced Offices, said: “Like most businesses, our utility bills have skyrocketed over the last 12 months. This presented an opportunity to take a step towards energy independence and offer our clients peace of mind with their business costs.

“HSBC UK has been instrumental in helping us get our energy-saving scheme off the ground, and we couldn’t be more pleased that it is already starting to pay off.”

Shannon Murphy, area director at HSBC UK, added: “At a time when we are all struggling with energy costs, we’re pleased to be able to support Dexter House with their scheme.

“This deal helps ensure serviced offices remain a financially viable option for businesses to turn to following the increase in flexible working.”
