Housebuilder Croudace Homes is bringing 62 new homes, of which 22 will be affordable, to Storrington, West Sussex, with the launch of its new development, White Stork Vale.
Located on Downsview Avenue, White Stork Vale is a collection of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes, designed to appeal to a wide range of buyers.
White Stork Vale is being created to help meet local housing needs, in line with the Strategic Housing Market Assessment Update and the โHousing Needs in Horsham Districtโ report, which identified the need for 894 new homes in the parishes of Storrington, Sullington and Washington by 2031. This reflects the increased appetite for new homes due to the rising population.
In addition to delivering new homes in Storrington, Croudace Homes will also provide ยฃ790,000 financial contributions, including improved connectivity, off-site highway pedestrian improvement works and the provision of accessible routes on Fryern Road, via Downsview Ave and Wantley lane, to enhance the wider local area.
Simon Halfhide, sales and marketing director at Croudace South Thames, said: โGiven the varied population of the Horsham District, itโs key that new development in the area provides a mix of housing sizes, types and tenures. This helps create sustainable and balanced communities in line with the Planning Framework.
โ28% of Storringtonโs population is made up of people over 65, yet there is a limited number of homes that are attractive to downsizers in the area. With a tight-knit community like Storrington, we are expecting enquiries from locals who are keen to stay in the area but need to adjust the size of their home.
โStorrington is a popular village in West Sussex, not just for downsizers and families but also young professionals seeking a relaxed lifestyle with the added benefit of strong connections to London and the South East.โ
The homes will offer a spacious living/ dining area with some including underfloor heating, and outdoor space in the form of a garden or patio space. They will also feature Mechanical Ventilation Heat Recovery (MHVR), which will provide fresh air by recovering up to 95% of heat from outgoing air to warm incoming fresh air, resulting in reduced heating costs of up to 50%. Externally, each home has driveway parking or an integrated garage, EV car charging points and PV solar panels.
Designed with sustainability in mind, 28% of the development is dedicated to green space and most dwellings are high-quality timber frame construction.
Simon added: โRecent data has indicated a strong demand for larger rural new-builds as buyers are starting to pay more attention to the higher maintenance and energy bills associated with older homes.
โSustainability is built into the community we are creating at White Stork Vale so that the development makes a positive contribution to local life and is more efficient for its owners.
โThe homes themselves have been designed to include high specification appliances and energy efficient systems such as the MVHR system, which will reduce both running and energy costs ahead of the expected 20% increase in the next four years.โ
Situated on the northern edge of the South Downs National Park, White Stork Vale offers good connectivity through the A24 for access to the wider motorway network and Pulborough station with direct trains to London and the South East.
