Square One Padel & Social Club comes to Sittingbourne

Square One Padel and Social Club has announced plans to open a brand-new site in Sittingbourne, Kent this April.

Following the success of its Ashford flagship and the upcoming Maidstone club, Square One Padel & Social Club will be bringing its proven community-led concept to Dolphin Park in Sittingbourne, creating another major destination for the fastest-growing sport in Europe.

The new Sittingbourne club will feature nine state-of-the-art indoor padel courts, alongside the same high-quality facilities that have made Square Oneโ€™s other locations so popular, including a gym, restaurant and Pilates studio.

Players can expect a welcoming social atmosphere, coaching and programming for all abilities and a space designed to bring people together through sport.

Founder Sam De Haan discovered padel during a work trip to Europe five years ago and quickly became hooked. Despite the sportโ€™s huge popularity across Europe, he identified a lack of high-quality indoor padel facilities in Kent and set out to change that.

Sam said. โ€œThis will be the first padel facility anywhere in Swale, bringing a sport that is exploding in popularity right across the UK.

โ€œThe response to Square One in Ashford has been incredible and really confirmed what we believed all along. There is a huge appetite for padel in Kent, not just from experienced players but from people discovering the sport for the first time.

โ€œPadel is sociable, inclusive and brilliant for both physical and mental health. Our clubs are about far more than just sport; they are places where people meet, connect and stay active.

โ€œSittingbourne is a brilliant next step for us, and we are excited to bring Square One to a new community that is really in need of more sporting facilities.โ€

Square One is investing over ยฃ1 million into the Sittingbourne site, creating a modern, welcoming venue with nine indoor padel courts and a strong focus on community use. The Sittingbourne club is going to employ around 50 people and transform a building which has stood empty for years into a genuine community asset.

Square One plans to work closely with local schools and community organisations to widen participation and encourage healthier lifestyles. The club will support schools, youth groups, charities, beginners, older residents and experienced players alike, helping to make sport more accessible to all ages and backgrounds.
