Plans that would see two long-established local housing providers in Brighton & Hove join Stonewater are moving forward.
Porthove Housing Association (PHHA) and the Rotary Club of Hove Housing Society (RCofHHS) are currently working with the leading affordable housing provider on a proposed Transfer of Engagements.
The transfer would see around 97 homes, most of which provide housing for older people, across Brighton & Hove, join Stonewaterโs nationwide portfolio of 40,000 properties.
Talks will continue over the coming months, with the transfer expected to be completed by 30 April 2026 once approved.
PHHA and RCofHHS have been considering the move as a way to secure long-term stability for their residents, at a time when smaller housing associations are facing growing pressures and increased regulatory demands.
Joining Stonewater would give customers access to a wider range of services and greater investment in homes and communities.
Stonewater has successfully welcomed several other housing providers into the organisation in recent years, including Mount Green Housing Association.
Jonathan Layzell, chief executive of Stonewater, said: โPHHA and the Rotary Club of Hove Housing Society have played an important role in supporting older residents locally, and we share their commitment to putting customers first. We believe this partnership has the potential to bring real benefits to customers, both now and in the long term.โ
