IoD Surrey partners with Air Ambulance Charity Kent Surrey Sussex (KSS)

The Surrey branch of the Institute of Directors (IoD) is partnering with Air Ambulance Charity Kent Surrey Sussex (KSS) to help the organisation raise its profile and connect with more Surrey businesses.

During the coming year, KSS will hold a number of events and fundraising activities extending opportunities for the Surrey branch of the IoD to engage their members with the charity and create mutually beneficial partnerships.

IoD members will hear about the benefits that supporting a charity such as KSS brings to their organisation and employees.

Having heard from Alex Redwood, head of corporate development for KSS, and seeing KSS win the ‘Community Hero Award’ at the recent Surrey Business Awards, Jarmila Yu, Surrey IoD branch chair, suggested a partnership between the two organisations.

Jarmila said: “Directors who choose to join the IoD understand the importance of professional development, high standards of corporate governance, and are by definition community and purpose-driven and looking for ways to give back and pay it forward.

“We are therefore delighted to appoint Air Ambulance Charity Kent Surrey Sussex as our charity partner. Their work, saving lives across Surrey and our neighbouring branch areas, is absolutely invaluable and essential for everyone living in the region.

“We look forward to supporting the charity with donations coming from some of our IoD Surrey events, and providing the charity with the opportunity to leverage the communications platform we have with our members in the business community in Surrey and beyond to help raise awareness of the charity and its valuable work.”

Alex added: “We’re delighted to be partnering with an internationally renowned and respected organisation that also has its finger on the pulse of local business needs.

“We look forward to helping businesses bring their environmental, social and corporate governance and community programmes to life whilst mutually benefitting from their fields of expertise.

“KSS is an independent charity and it costs over £45k per day to operate our lifesaving service. It’s only thanks to the generosity of our supporters that we can keep flying and saving lives.”
